I have been using furl.net for a while as i like the concept of bookmarks accessible anywhere. The advantage of del.icio.us is the social networking side. Even though i haven't quite got my head around tags yet i signed up for a del.icio.us account and tagged a few sites. I also tried some searches and was pleasantly surprised to find a website i hadn't found using Yahoo or databases (enquiry for library patron). I will definitely use del.icio.us in the future. One thing i don't like about del.icio.us though is the ads (did you know that in a survey most people couldn't identify an advertisement from search results on Google?, actually i'm not surprised as i notice this error when assisting library patrons). Furl is cleaner & clearer although i think del.icio.us will grow on me, particularly as i had such a successful result.
Now for the negative, my technorati experience was awful. i did notice that searching tags produced better more accurate results than blog posts but i didn't get the blog directory option on my screen (perhaps you have to sign up which i won't be doing). My results were also full of rubbish (and i'm not wasting time which i don't have trying to sort through it).
Library Thing update: I looked to see who had catalogued similar books to myself and to my surprise found someone who had 7 out of my 18, then i looked further and found she had catalogued some 7000 books so it wasn't that surprising after all!
